Are you bringing the kids?

Yes.  (It is surprising how many times we get asked this question.)

We're going to home school (or "world school") for 5th and 7th grade.  

7th grade social studies focuses on world cultures.  We should have that subject covered, at least.  

What will happen to your house? stuff? jobs? 

We're renting our house.  Jim spent the last four months reducing, organizing, and packing our stuff into the basement (he's really good at tetris).  We've almost found a home for fred (the snake).
Jim quit in March.  Carolyn is taking a leave of absence.

Why are you going?

It's been a "life dream" since before the kids were born.  We joked we'd put money in the around the world account before we would eat.  Our experiences with sickness and loss over the past 10 years has only reinforced our desire to Live Deliberately amd spend time as a family during this magical age when the kids are talking but not talking back (too much).  

Plus, who wouldn't want to miss 7th grade?
